BATAVIA – The city will have an assistant manager for the first time in several years with the appointment of a Batavia woman to the post.
Gretchen DiFante, a widely known consultant in Western New York, was chosen from about 60 applicants by a committee of municipal department heads.
Her senior executive positions include Rich Products Corporation in Buffalo and Batavia’s P.W. Minor orthopedic shoe factory.
The post pays $79,950 and DiFante hopes to begin next month working with manager Jason R. Molina and other city officials.
She has served as a consultant in recent years on the city’s strategic planning.
