Buffalo police are investigating two shooting incidents early Monday morning on the East Side. A person was injured in one of the incidents.
It is not known whether the incidents are related.
An unknown person recklessly fired approximately 10 shots from an assault rifle at about 2:09 a.m. on Stanislaus Street, police said.
The porch of 13 Stanislaus was struck and shots were fired into 15 Stanislaus while six people were inside.
The round entering 15 Stanislaus hit Charise S. Benton, of a different address on the first block on Stanislaus, in the right upper thigh.
She was treated and released from Erie County Medical Center.
Four adults and two children were in the home at the time.
The shots damaged a window frame, China cabinet and wall in the dining room.
Two miles away, an unknown suspect in a white 2001 or 2002 Chevrolet Impala fired multiple rounds on Sattler Avenue and Zelmer Street at about 12:29 a.m.
The vehicle headed north on Sattler while firing, then turned west on Block Street and north on Zelmer before firing more rounds. Two empty nine-millimeter shell casings and one live nine-millimeter round were collected by police.
