A tree that fell on power lines on Cottonwood Drive in Amherst knocked out electricity for about 1,400 National Grid residential and small business customers from about 7:45 p.m. until 9:10 p.m. Monday, according to Steve Brady, a spokesman for the utility. Electrical service to all the affected customers in the town’s Hopkins-Klein roads area was fully restored by 9:10 p.m., Brady said.
