Ohio man arrested for trying to sell stolen handgun

A 26-year-old Ohio man was arrested for trying to sell a stolen 9mm loaded handgun at a Town of Hamburg motel late Thursday, and a friend of his was arrested for allegedly trying to interfere with Hamburg police, the Hamburg Town Police reported Monday.

Edward T. Scott of Dilonvale, Ohio, was arrested on felony loaded weapons charges in the parking lot of a motel on Camp Road about 11:15 p.m. Thursday. A loaded 9 mm Ruger handgun which was later confirmed as being stolen in Washington, Pa., over a year ago, was seized during the arrest. Also arrested was Roberto Gonzalez, 30,of Chicaco, a friend of Scott, after he allegedly began screaming obscenities at police offices questioning Scott.

Gonzalez was charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of governmental administration and taken into custody.

Scott was arrested after another motel guest called Hamburg police to report his alleged attempt to sell him the handgun for $500.
