LITTLE VALLEY – A new class of county corrections officers has joined the jail force at the Cattaraugus County Jail.

Candidates, Melissa Pound-Ives, Philip Viereck and Adora Bertino were recognized and given the title of Corrections Officer as graduates from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Basic Academy for Corrections Officers.

The course, a 160-hour classroom training, teaches such skills as defensive tactics and first aid/CPR.
