Kashika Speed, 41, pleaded guilty Monday to federal robbery and other charges before U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Arcara for the theft of cocaine and U.S. currently last year from a Buffalo man who himself was involved in the illegal distribution of cocaine in Western New York. Speed faces a prison term of up to 20 years and a fine of up to $250,000 when she is sentenced at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 29.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph M. Tripi said Speed and others plotted the robbery and held the man at gunpoint in his Buffalo home until he turned over cash and two kilograms of cocaine to Speed. In addition to robbery Speed pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and extortion of assets.

U.S. Attorney Williams J. Hochul, Jr., said the plea “demonstrates our continuing efforts to remove violent predators from the streets, even those who prey upon others engaged in criminal behavior.”
