Buffalo residents will be able to drop off hazardous household waste from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 28 at Honeywell Specialty Materials, 20 Peabody St.

Residents will be able to drop off: up to 2 gallons or 20 pounds of pesticides, fertilizers, pool chemicals or household cleaners; up to 10 gallons of oil-based paints or spray cans; up to 2 gallons of paint thinner, stripper or solvents; lead acid and rechargeable batteries; up to 10 gallons of oil, gasoline, kerosene and antifreeze; items containing mercury, such as thermostats and thermometers; tires without rims; propane tanks and cylinders, full or empty; electronic waste; light bulbs.

Items that will not be accepted include latex paint; pharmaceutical waste; yard waste; commercial industrial waste; heavy appliances such as washers, dryers and stoves; household garbage and recyclables.
