Tapestry Charter grad Field in NCAA 200 meter finals

Ashley Field will have the chance to compete for a national title at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, Ore.

Field, a graduate of Tapestry Charter School and a redshirt sophomore at Baylor, made the cut for the finals field in the 200 meters. Her time of 23.27 gave her the eighth and final spot.

The 200 meter final is scheduled to run today at 5:49 p.m. on ESPNU

Late on Thursday, University at Buffalo sophomore Ryan Billian took second team All-America honors after finishing 13th in the long jump. He posted a jump of 24-feet-¼ inch. He became just the second Bull to compete in the long jump at the NCAA Championships.

Billian was also the second All-American for the Bulls as Jonathan Jones (shot put) earned second-team status on Wednesday.

Meanwhile Buffalo sophomore Mike Morgan, who ranked seventh nationally coming into the meet, had to pull out of the decathlon with a foot injury.
