State Police charge driver with DWI at his Tonawanda home

A Town of Tonawanda man is facing felony DWI counts after State Police pursued him from the Youngmann Expressway to his home Wednesday night.

Troopers tried to pull over a vehicle on I-190 for multiple moving violations shortly before 10 p.m., but the driver didn’t stop and then took the Colvin Boulevard exit. State Police said troopers continued to pursue him with full lights and sirens until he stopped at his home on Braxmar Road.

Ronald P. Delo, 55, exhibited signs of intoxication and was taken into custody without further incident. His blood alcohol content was later found to be 0.21 percent.

He was charged with felony driving while intoxicated for two previous DWI convictions, aggravated DWI because of his blood alcohol level, unlawful fleeing a police officer and multiple vehicle and traffic law violations.
