15 arrested at Dave Matthews concert

DARIEN – Genesee County sheriff’s deputies arrested 15 people Wednesday night at the Dave Matthews Band concert at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center – many of them teenagers – on a variety of charges, including marijuana possession, possessing fake driver’s licenses and, in one case, punching a man in the back of the head.

Deputies arrested a 17-year-old Churchville youth on a charge of second-degree criminal impersonation after he allegedly impersonated someone else while trying to enter the concert. He also was charged with three counts of possessing another’s license. He was arraigned in Darien Town Court and remanded to jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Deputies issued appearance tickets to 14 others, some of them tied to counts of trespassing after they allegedly tried to re-enter the south Performing Arts Center following ejections. Those 14 were told to appear in court June 24. Two of those given tickets were from West Seneca and Orchard Park.

A Rochester resident was accused of punching a man in the back of his head. He was charged with harassment.

Several others were cited for alleged possession of fraudulent licenses or using someone else’s license, while others were accused of marijuana possession.
