LOCKPORT - A man who was sentenced to four years in prison recently on a federal drug charge drew a concurrent five-year sentence Wednesday in a local drug prosecution.

Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas imposed the sentence on Rashan M. Vincent, 34, of 12th Street, Niagara Falls. He pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and forfeited $179 he had, along with one-eighth ounce of cocaine, when he was arrested in the Falls Feb. 6, 2013.

His federal conviction was for possession of cocaine base with the intent to distribute, stemming from the seizure of 33.16 grams in a raid in Niagara Falls June 9, 2011.

“I have no excuse for my actions. I pretty much knew where I was going,” said Vincent, whose record also includes felony drug convictions from 1997 and 2002.
