Emily Altier, a Niagara University junior athletic from Cicero, has been appointed the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference representative to the NCAA Division I Student-Athlete Advisor Committee. A freestyle swimmer for the Purple Eagles, Altier was selected by the currebt advisory committee memories from a pool of three nominees submitted by the MAAC She will serve two years.

The National SAAC serves as the athletes’ voice for each of the NCAA’s member conference.

“I applied for this position simply because being a leader in everything I do is my goal in life every day,” Altier said. “My role is to contribute to the committee and have a voice. I wish to be a positive asset to a very important community of student-athletes.”

Altier made the MAAC All-Academic team last season.
