Buffalo Bills Hall-of-Famer Jim Kelly was released from Erie County Medical Center today and returned to his home. The release comes 10 days after Kelly’s final radiation treatment in his battle against cancer. Kelly, 54, underwent a six-week regiment of both chemotherapy and radiation treatments to counter the cancer in his maxillary sinus and adjacent tissues. His doctors have said he must wait two to three months after the conclusion of the treatments to determine the next steps in his cancer battle. The Bills' all-time quarterback had been in ECMC since May 15 while receiving the final rounds of radiation. “He’s excited about getting home,” said Kelly’s brother, Dan. “We’re really excited for him and he’s glad to get going on the road to recovery.”
