The annual Father’s Day Lawn Mower Races and Classic Car Show will be held Saturday on West River Parkway at Long Road.

Admission is free. If the weather is bad, the races will be held next Sunday.

Registration for the lawn mower races, and the Kevin Doring Walk and 5K Run, begins at 9 a.m.

The classic car show begins at 9 a.m., with registration until noon. Awards will be presented at 2:30 p.m.

The run and walk start at 11:30, and the lawn mowers rev up at 1 p.m. For categories and other information, visit www.gilawnmowerraces.webs.com.

Proceeds from the events benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life on Grand Island.

This week:

• A Planning Board meeting begins at 7 p.m. Monday in the first-floor conference room at Town Hall, 2255 Baseline Road.

• The Grand Island School Board will hold its last meeting of this school year at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Professional Development Room at the high school, 1100 Ransom Road. The board also will hold its annual tenure and retiree reception.

• State Sen. Mark Grisanti, R-Buffalo, will have satellite office hours from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in Town Hall.

• Registration for town recreation programs will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Community Center at Nike Base Park, 3278 Whitehaven Road. The fee is $20 per child per session and $25 per adult for adult tennis.
