Boat traffic on the Black Rock Channel was affected for several hours Sunday as a movable portion of the International Railroad Bridge, which crosses the Niagara River between Buffalo and Fort Erie, Ont., was stuck in the closed position.

The U.S. Coast Guard station in Buffalo, which had issued an advisory to all craft, reported that only two tall-masted pleasure boats were unable to pass under the closed bridge. Repairs were made and the bridge, which dates from 1873, was back in operation by about 7:30 p.m.
