Niagara Falls Memorial appoints two executives

NIAGARA FALLS – Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center appointed a full-time chief of surgery and a new human resources director last week.

Dr. Venkat R. Kolli has been chief of surgery since 2009, but in a part-time capacity. As of July 1, in his new full-time role, he will oversee Memorial’s array of specialty surgical offerings and its roster of surgeons. Also, he will move his medical office to the Summit Healthplex in Wheatfield while also establishing office hours at Memorial’s satellite site at 624 River Road, North Tonawanda.

The new human resources director, Timothy J. Freer, starts work June 16. He previously served as vice president for global human resources at New Era Cap Co., where he won an industrial relations award from Cornell University.

Freer’s previous health care experience includes human resource management positions at Buffalo Medical Group, Mercy Hospital of Buffalo and DeGraff Memorial Hospital.
