Obama made grave error agreeing to hostage swap

Isn’t it a shame that President Obama has used a U.S. soldier as a pawn to enhance his image as a world leader? How else can you explain this latest debacle between the United States and the Taliban? This transaction has come after the president’s approval ratings hit an all-time low, resulting in a weaker Democratic Party as a whole, and putting U.S. security at major risk.

This decline is due to Vladimir Putin’s invasion, Edward Snowden’s whistle-blowing, IRS irregularities, problems with veterans’ health care and Benghazi, to mention a few. The so-called exchange of one U.S. hostage for five Taliban terrorists is nothing short of a total disaster for this country. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s actions, leaving his base while at war, reportedly led to the deaths of soldiers as they searched for him.

What has happened to our policy to never compromise with the enemy, especially known terrorists? This exchange stings and should send chills up and down the spines of all Americans due to the lack of insensitivity of our president in a time of war. It further weakens our position as a global leader in the free world.
