Five-time drunken driver goes to prison for first time

LOCKPORT – Deana M. Mrzygut, who committed her fifth drunken driving offense last year while on probation for her fourth, was sent behind bars for the first time Friday.

Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas sentenced Mrzygut, 40, of Witmer Road, Town of Niagara, to one to three years in state prison for felony driving while intoxicated.

Her previous convictions, two DWIs and two impaired driving conviction, all ended with conditional discharges or probation sentences in local courts, defense attorney James J. Faso Jr. said.
