Alton Brown bringing live show to UB Nov. 16

There is no word yet on whether Alton Brown will be using watermelons from a Gallagher-esque “extreme juicing” segment.

But when his live show rolls onto the UB Center for the Arts stage on Nov. 16, ponchos will be issued to spectators in the first few rows. Draw your own conclusions.

The “Alton Brown Live! The Edible Inevitable Tour” has the bow-tied Food Network star belting out musical numbers, narrating multimedia and drawing on puppet assistants.

There will also be what the announcement calls “extreme food experimentation,” which is where the ponchos come in.

Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are $39.50, $49.50, or $99.50, which includes a meet and greet session. They go on sale Friday, at 10 am, at the Center for the Arts Box Office and

Brown hosts “Iron Chef America” and “Cutthroat Kitchen” for the Food Network. He created the show “Good Eats,” which ran for 13 years on the network. He’s also been a bestselling author, of “I’m Just Here for the Food” and numerous “Good Eats” volumes.
