LEWISTON – Children and adults are invited to the New York Power Authority’s Family Safety Fair with exhibits that range from constructing safety-related items like fire trucks and medical helicopters with Legos, free anti-bullying wrist bands and safety identification, to a driving simulator and fire safety tips. The Safety Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Niagara Power Vista, 5777 Lewiston Road. Admission is free.
Those who would like to compete in the “Build Up to Safety” contest are invited to bring their own Legos and their imagination. The first-place winner will receive a 24-inch bicycle.
The New York Masonic Safety ID program will provide parents, guardians, senior citizens and children with free safety ID cards, which include fingerprints, digital identification and other information to find missing loved ones.
Several law enforcement agencies will be in attendance to conduct child car seat safety checks, discuss fire safety and meet with the public.
The Power Vista is always open to the public with 50 displays and interactive exhibits on electricity and energy efficiency, as well as spectacular views of the Niagara River gorge from its observation deck. Parking is also free.
