LOCKPORT – A South Buffalo man admitted Monday that he took part in the burglary of a convenience store on River Road in Wheatfield last year.

Phillip S. Muzzy Jr., 31, of Mackinaw Street, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and was admitted by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment. Muzzy, who must pay $420 in restitution, already is in that program after an unrelated guilty plea in Buffalo.

His co-defendant, James M. Trala, 27, also of Mackinaw Street, is serving four to eight years in prison for a pair of Erie County burglaries. On April 9, Farkas gave him a concurrent sentence of 1 1/3 to four years for the Wheatfield break-in, which occurred April 23, 2013.
