NIAGARA FALLS – A household hazardous waste dropoff will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the City of Niagara Falls’ Department of Public Works facility, 1785 New Road.

An appointment is required to drop off materials. To schedule one, visit www.rethinkyourwaste.com/hhw.html or call 439-7250.

Accepted items include oil-based paint, automotive fluids, pesticides, household cleaners, wood stains, fluorescent bulbs, mercury and fertilizers.

The event is free for most county residents. Residents of the Town of Niagara, Newfane, Cambria and Wilson should bring a check for $19 payable to the Niagara County Refuse Disposal District.

The city also will accept electronic waste, like televisions and computer monitors, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no charge and no appointment is necessary. For more information, call the city’s Department of Public Works at 286-4940.
