Buffalo River Fest Park’s free summer concerts return

The family friendly Buffalo River Fest Park waterfront music series kick-offs its third season on June 4 with country band West of the Mark.

The concerts will continue each Wednesday through Aug. 27, with one exception: a special Independence Day eve performance on July 3 by acoustic rockers Bill LaRusch & Friends, which will include firework displays. Each event lasts from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at the park, located at 249 Ohio St.

Parking is free and widely available. No personal coolers are allowed, but refreshments are available for purchase, with proceeds supporting park maintenance and other riverfront development efforts. Lawn chairs are recommended.

Here’s the rest of the schedule:

June 11: Crash Cadillac (classic rock and pop).

June 18: Heard of Buffalo (acoustic rock).

June 25: Boneshakers (blues and classic rock).

July 9: Crikwater (Irish folk).

July 16: A List Band (Top 40 hits).

July 23: Flipside (classic pop).

July 30: The Insiders (pop, rock, oldies).

Aug. 6: Screaming Pineapples (party rock).

Aug. 13: Wide Right (pop rock).

Aug. 20: The Strangers (party rock).

Aug. 27: Eclectic Revival (rock, pop, alternative).

In addition to the Wednesday concert series, the park also will serve as the location for the third annual Wardstock festival on Aug. 2 and the “Halfway to St. Patty’s Day Party” on Sept. 5. Both events will feature live entertainment and are free.

Rain will force concert cancellations, so check the Buffalo River Fest Park Facebook page for updates. A rain date is scheduled for Sept. 3.
