Bisons’ Romero still winless

Ricky Romero only allowed a pair of hits Tuesday, but they proved to be costly.

Romero (0-3) allowed an RBI double and the go-ahead home run as he remained winless and the Buffalo Bisons fell to Indianapolis, 6-1.

The former MLB All-Star struggled with his command throughout the evening as he allowed seven walks in just five innings pitched.

The Indians broke the game open in the bottom of the seventh as they scored three runs, including a two-run home run by first baseman Chris McGuiness. The Indians would add a sixth run in the bottom of the eighth inning.

Indianapolis designated hitter Matt Hague reached safely four times, scoring three runs and adding a home run while catcher Tony Sanchez hit a pair of RBI doubles.

After a scoreless first three innings, the Bisons struck first. Center fielder Kenny Wilson hit into an RBI groundout to give the Bisons a 1-0 lead.

Buffalo loaded the bases again in the sixth but was unable to capitalize, stranding 13 runners in all.

Jeff Locke earned the win for Indianapolis, going six innings while allowing five hits and one earned run.

Jay Jackson and Andrew Oliver closed out the final three innings for Indianapolis.
