Sinclairville man arrested on child sex abuse charges

MAYVILLE – A 53-year-old man was arrested at his Old Chautauqua Road home today on charges that he sexually abused children under the age of 11 at a Town of Ellington campground, the Chautauqua County Sheriff Office announced this evening.

The suspect, Randy L. Daughenbaugh, was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of either $50,000 cash bail or a $100,000 property bail bond pending further proceedings in Ellington Town Court.

He was charged with two counts of use of a child in a sexual performance, four counts of first-degree sexual abuse and three counts of child endangerment. The charges stem from an incident involving the children while in his care at the Ellington campground at the end of April.

The arrest followed an investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, County Child Protective Services and County Child Advocacy program.
