LEWISTON – Mount St. Mary’s Hospital will offer free prostate cancer screenings from June 9-14 in its outpatient center in the north lobby of the hospital, 5300 Military Road, Lewiston.

The free PSA blood tests will be offered from noon to 5 p.m. weekdays and 7 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The hospital also offered these screens in the week before Father’s Day last year, and more than 300 tests were given. Pre-registration is not needed, and no fasting is required. Screenings are recommended for men over 40, especially those who have a family history of prostate cancer.

The hospital is offering “gift certificates” to be given to loved ones to remind them to take the test; they are available by calling 298-2145.
