MAYVILLE – A 43-year-old Lakewood man was is being held Tuesday in the Chautauqua County Jail after a raid on a meth lab he allegedly was operating in a home on Schultz Drive in the Town of Westfield.

Christopher L. Swanson was arrested there about 7 p.m. Sunday after county sheriff’s deputies responded to complaints from neighbors about strange odors coming from that residence.

Agents of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force reported finding a quantity of methamphetamine, the precursors use in the production of Meth, a shotgun and a quantity of marijuana in the home. The Chautauqua County Hazmat Team seized, render safe and ultimately disposed of all the toxic items used in the production of Meth.

Swanson was being held on charges of criminal possession of precursors of methamphetamine, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, unlawful possession of marijuana and criminal possession of a weapon. Additional suspects are being sought, according to the sheriff’s office.
