Erie County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two people on charges of driving while intoxicated early Saturday morning.
Michael J. Wah, 39, of Ivanhoe Drive, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated for having a blood alcohol level higher than 0.18 percent.
Wah was arrested at 12:30 a.m. after a sheriff’s deputy stopped him on Church Street for a red light violation. The deputy interviewed Wah and conducted a field sobriety test. Wah had a blood alcohol level of 0.20 percent.
Shamell D. Russell, 22, Main Street, was arrested at about 3:20 a.m. on Transit Road near Main Street in Clarence. Deputies responded to a report of a one-car accident with property damage. The car crossed over the median and blew out to tires.
Russell, who was observed walking away from the scene, had a blood alcohol level of 0.14 percent.
