Buffalo Hoopathon: 1 to 5 p.m. today, SUNY Buffalo State Campbell Student Union; tickets are available at the door and cost $10 each for groups of five, $10 for kids 17 and under, and $20 for adults. Proceeds will support the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo as well as Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and put dozens free of hula hoops into the hands of Buffalo schoolchildren.

Grief share: Support for those who’ve lost a loved one, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Mental Health Association in Niagara County, 36 Pine St., Lockport.

Allegany Nature Pilgrimage: Friday through June 1, Allegany State Park. Weekend of informal field trips, including birding, wildflowers, pond life, mammals, butterflies, fungi, family nature walks and more. Evening tent programs on Friday and Saturday, followed by owl prowls and stargazing. Music and a chicken barbecue on Saturday. Cost is $40 for adults ($20 per day); $5 for those ages 5 to 18.
