A 19-year-old man was shot in his head and right leg at 1:35 p.m. today at the corner of Lang Avenue and Freund Street in Buffalo. The victim, whose name Buffalo Police have not yet released, is in stable condition at Erie County Medical Center.

The victim was conscious, according to the police report, telling officers he heard several shots before he was struck in his leg. Then, after he took off running down Freund, he was grazed on the left side of his head.

Police believe this incident was a drive-by.

One witness told police she saw a black male wearing a black hoodie exit a green Chevrolet Malibu and fire a gun 6-7 times.

Another witness told police she saw a 17- to 18-year-old black male wearing a black hoodie with a green shirt underneath come by the scene and pick up shell casings and a key while officers were with the victim.

A third witness reported to police that she saw a shiny gray, four-door vehicle with a green leaf on the passenger side door leave the scene. A fourth witness also reported seeing a gray, four-door vehicle exit the scene.
