Major League Baseball is helping Buffalo’s Olmsted Middle and High School buy practice equipment for its baseball and softball teams.
The MLB’s Tomorrow Fund awarded the Olmsted School Foundation a $3,105 matching-funds grant toward the purchase of a batting cage and two pitching machines. The Foundation will provide the required match, most of it coming from a school raffle held earlier in the year of box seats to a Buffalo Bisons game donated by the Bisons organization.
“We’re thrilled and grateful to have been awarded a Baseball Tomorrow Fund grant so that we can buy practice equipment for our young athletes,” said Jeff Rose, president of the Olmsted School Foundation.
“This is going to give us the equipment to enhance our student athletes’ skills year round,” added Olmsted varsity baseball coach Michael Webster. “The mere thought of this opportunity is amazing.”
