Falls man’s cocaine charge is a sleeper

LOCKPORT – A man who allegedly was asleep in a car in front of a Chinese restaurant in Niagara Falls was arraigned Thursday for allegedly having 1.83 grams of cocaine in the vehicle.

Regis M. Cox, 21, of Willow Avenue, Niagara Falls, pleaded not guilty to third- and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Assistant District Attorney Laura T. Bittner said police found Cox sleeping in the car on the night of Jan. 3 in the 700 block of Portage Road. Cox was accused of intent to sell the drug.
