NIAGARA FALLS – An 11-year-old boy who was hit when he darted across the street on Wednesday afternoon in Niagara Falls was recovering on Thursday after surgery in Women and Children’s Hospital.

Just after 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the 3200 block of Niagara Street the unidentified Niagara Falls boy was struck, as he and a friend ran across the street near Gill Creek Park. The other boy was not injured.

Traffic Capt. Angela Munn said the driver, who was headed westbound, was not charged and a police check of her vehicle found no mechanical problems.
