A 19-year-old Town of Tonawanda man was arrested on weapons, marijuana and alcohol charges after state police pulled his car over Tuesday night on the eastbound Thruway in Cheektowaga because his car had no working brake lights.

James W. Cook was arrested after troopers found in his car three daggers, five throwing stones, more than 8 grams of marijuana and more than 4 grams of marijuana wax, a marijuana cigar, a glass pipe containing burnt marijuana residue and four cans of beer.

Cook was charged with criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use in the fourth-degree, criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of alcohol by a person under 21, a State Alcohol Beverage Control Law violation. He was issued an appearance ticket for Cheektowaga Town Court proceedings at 9 a.m. June 2.
