The American Association of University Women Buffalo Branch presented Barbara Park Leggett, executive director of Explore & More Children’s Museum, its 74th annual Achievement Award, which recognizes an outstanding woman of Western New York for her contributions to the educational, cultural and/or economic well-being and advancement of women and girls in the community.
Lumsden & McCormick promoted Nicole Alexander, Kyle Breloff and Elizabeth LaLonde to senior accountants. Alexander graduated from Canisius College with master’s and bachelor’s degrees. Breloff graduated from Niagara University with an MBA and from Geneseo State College with a bacherlor’s degree. LaLonde graduated of Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
The Buffalo Chapter of the New York State Society of CPAs selected Mindy Elniski, a senior accountant with Amherst accounting firm Lougen, Valenti, Bookbinder and Weintraub, to attend the 2014 Young CPA Leadership Conference. Only five to six local individuals are chosen from the Buffalo chapter.
Niagara Punch & Die Co., 176 Grunner Road, Buffalo, has changed its name to Sharp Tooling Co. The company in the past year and a half has added shop and office personnel, revamped its offices and named Jayson Czerniak its chief executive officer, succeeding his father, Jay.
