A triumphant return to the organ at St. Paul’s

St. Paul’s Cathedral loves to welcome back its former musicians in a string of concerts the church calls “Triumphant Returns.” Friday brings a free concert by Andrew Scanlon, former assistant choirmaster.

Scanlon is currently organ professor at East Carolina University. He has performed at some of the world’s most famous churches including four in New York City: the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, St. Thomas Church Fifth Avenue and the Church of St. Mary the Virgin. He also has performed in Rome, at St. Paul’s Within the Walls.

He plays at 7:30 p.m. Friday in St. Paul’s Cathedral (128 Pearl St.). Admission is free. For info, call 855-0900, Ext. 242.
