What you need to know: Four candidates are running for two open seats. Longtime incumbents Walter Burgett and Raymond Carr will face newcomers Myrlene Lee and Tamera Dixon.

Candidates (Elect 2):

• Walter Burgett (i), 46, 10-year board member who is a social welfare examiner for the Department of Social Services; has two children who are Cheektowaga Central graduates

• Raymond Carr (i), 80, 35-year board member, retired and has a son and granddaughter living in the district

• Myrlene Lee, 47, U.S. Post Office manager with two children in the district

• Tamera Dixon, 46, works in the lunch program at Union East Elementary School and is also a pet nutritionist, has one child in the district.

Total budget: $40,945,433, up 2.59 percent

Tax levy*: $22,814,991, up 2.2 percent

Tax levy increase allowed under tax cap: 2.2 percent

Property tax rate per $1,000 of assessed value: $17.97, up 2.2 percent

Polls open: Noon to 9 p.m. in the band room at Cheektowaga Central High School, 3600 Union Road.
