Buffalo man charged with homicide from May 9

A Buffalo man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing death of a 48-year-old man May 9.

Edward P. Hubbs, 42, of Main Street, was charged this morning with second-degree murder in the death of George R. Waddell Jr., Buffalo police said.

Waddell was stabbed inside his Brewster Street apartment at around 6:50 p.m. May 9 and was taken to Erie County Medical Center where he died.

Homicide detectives developed a person of interest in the case and early this morning Hubbs surrendered to authorities, police said.

Hubbs, was picked up and brought to police headquarters.

Hubbs allegedly made admissions to detectives and was booked by Detectives Michael A. Mordino and Mario T. Pratts, who conducted the homicide investigation along with Detective Sgt. Steven M. Turner.
