NIAGARA FALLS – A 26-year-old city resident told police he was robbed at gunpoint Friday afternoon by a friend who had asked for a ride home.

The victim told police he had just withdrawn money from a Main Street credit union about 5 p.m. when he met a male friend as he after leaving the building. They spoke briefly before the man asked for a ride to his nearby residence. The victim complied and drove to an alley off Memorial Parkway, where the robber pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

The victim handed over $650 in cash and the robber fled.
