NIAGARA FALLS - A Florida-based tour operator will offer day trips to Niagara Falls via New York City beginning Sunday.
Mauiva Air Cruises, which specializes in private and semi-private vacation experiences, will utilize a private plane to bring visitors on its inaugural flight to the Falls, which will arrive Sunday morning at Niagara Falls International Airport.
Mauiva is working with Viator, a travel booking company, for the trips, which will run through October. A group of travel writers will be part of the group that visits on Sunday.
“We are thrilled to be working with Mauiva and Viator, and to bring this partnership to the Niagara Falls [Fixed Base Operator] and to the Niagara USA destination,” Niagara Tourism and Convention Corp. CEO and president John H. Percy Jr. said in a written statement. “We are looking forward to rolling out the red carpet to our visitors as they experience Niagara Falls USA up close and personal, and optimistic about expanding their stay in the future.”
The company had been landing in Niagara Falls in recent years but had been taking visitors over to Niagara Falls, Ont., without stopping on the American side.
