“Locked Up – Behind Bars – A Look on the Inside From the Outside,” an event free to the public will be presented by a number of community groups in recognition of National Week of Action Against Incarcerating Youth at the Holy Cross Church, 345 7th Street in Buffalo from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. May 22. The event will be free to people of all ages with the doors to the church opening at 5:45 p.m. that day.

The event is sponsored by Women Against Violence Everywhere (WAVE), Starr Connextions, Youth With a Purpose, TLC 2nd Chance Prison Ministries and community activists Juan Flores, Jackie Brown and Sharif Shaheid. There will be live music performances, guest speakers for a panel discussion, with letters read from current prisoners, and resources to contact and prizes to share.
