LOCKPORT – “Your grandmother loves you, but she’s afraid of you,” Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon Farkas told Christopher L. Ford, as she sentenced him Monday to five years in prison for robbing his grandmother at knifepoint.

Farkas said Ford, who also faces five years of post-release supervision, has been diagnosed with several mental health issues, and his condition has been deteriorating during his time in the County Jail.

Ford, 32, of 19th Street, Niagara Falls, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempted first-degree robbery for the June 15 robbery in the Falls. Farkas imposed an order of protection barring Ford from contacting his grandmother.
