A cashier was injured in a robbery attempt at a Family Dollar store in the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood on Sunday morning, Buffalo police said.

Police said the suspect walked behind the cash register counter at 9:05 a.m. at 928 Broadway and repeatedly demanded that the cashier open the register and give him “all the twenties,” while poking her body with a kitchen knife. When the cashier began screaming, the suspect ran out of the store without any money, police said.

The cashier suffered a small puncture wound on her right thigh, police said.
