Four teens charged in robbery of pizza deliveryman in Buffalo

Four teenage boys were charged with the weekend robbery of a pizza deliveryman, whose car was used for the getaway, Buffalo police reported.

The robbery occurred late Friday night, when a deliveryman for a Hertel Avenue pizzeria said he was approached by three men on Sanford Street, which runs between Dewey and Leroy avenues. One of the men had a gun, the victim told Northeast District officers. The police report did not explain the role of the fourth suspect.

The robbers took the food, $150 cash, a phone, tablet computer and the victim’s wallet, then took off in his car. The car was abandoned, but still running, when officers found it on Halbert Street - a block to the west.

Early Saturday, police arrested four suspects at a Halbert Street home. Tiwan Speakes, 18, James Fisher, 17, and two 16-year-olds were charged with felony counts of robbery and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, as well as a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a weapon. Police recovered the cash, telephone, some other property and pellet guns.
