NIAGARA FALLS – When a McKoon Avenue woman walked into her living room shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday she encountered a burglar, Niagara falls police said.

It was one of two house break-ins investigated by police Saturday.

The McKoon victim screamed and fled out a side door, which had been left unlocked, police said. Stolen was purse that contained a cellphone and $40 in cash. The loss was estimated at $385.

A Grand Avenue woman told police that someone forced open her apartment door between 9 p.m. Friday and 3:40 a.m. Saturday, breaking the door frame. A flat-screen TV also was damaged. Total damage was estimated at $600.
