The former provost and vice president of academic affairs at Geneseo State College is the fourth candidate being considered for the presidency of SUNY Buffalo State.

Katherine Conway-Turner, currently the provost and vice president of academic affairs at Hood College in Frederick, Md., will be at Buffalo State on Monday for an open forum.

Conway-Turner has been at Hood College since 2010. She was at Geneseo from 2004 to 2009.

She will be the fourth of five candidates interviewed for the Buffalo State post.

The first finalist, Susan D. Phillips, provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University at Albany, visited the campus April 21.

Gary L. Miller, chancellor of the University of North Carolina Wilmington, participated in a series of meetings and interview sessions on April 29.

Howard Cohen, who has been serving as interim head of the college since last August while a 22-member search committee looks for a permanent replacement for the late Aaron M. Podolefsky, announced in April he would seek the job on a permanent basis.

Cohen participated in an open forum on campus on May 1.
