Town of Niagara Democrats seeking supervisor candidates

TOWN OF NIAGARA – The Town of Niagara Democratic Committee is seeking candidates for the special election for town supervisor in November.

Niagara County Democratic Committee Chair Nick Forster and town Democratic Committee Chair Geraldine Carpenter are seeking Democratic candidates to run in the special election that is expected to be called to replace Steven Richards, who resigned last week. His resignation was part of a plea deal with prosecutors after Richards was facing trial on 23 counts related to misuse of his office.

The Town Board is expected to name Deputy Supervisor Danny Sklarski on Wednesday to take over the position until the special election. The election will select a replacement to serve the remaining year of the term until next year when the seat will come up in the general election.

Those who are interested persons are asked to email Carpenter at by May19.
