The Lancaster Opera House appointed Deny Adelman to its board of trustees. Adelman is president of Working Knowledge, a national telecommunication cable and communication firm. Built in 1896, the Lancaster Opera House is located on the second floor of Lancaster’s Town Hall, 21 Central Ave.


Damon Morey special counsel Victoria L. D’Angelo served as program co-chairwoman for the New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Law Section Spring Meeting in Toronto. The meeting encompassed several cross-border estate and tax planning highlights and strategies to address intra-family conflicts. D’Angelo provided a program introduction and presented the session titled “U.S. Tax Considerations for Canadians Living in the U.S.”


Phillips Lytle partner John G. Schmidt Jr. addressed the Charles S. Desmond Chapter of the American Inns of Court recently. Schmidt spoke on the topic of “The Anatomy of an Employee Fraud Case,” specifically investigating and litigating against a disloyal employee. Peter M. Vito, of Peter M. Vito & Associates, also presented on this topic.

MVP Network Consulting, Buffalo, was awarded a $22,704 federal contract for data storage devices from the U.S. Naval Supply Systems Command, Gulfport, Miss.


BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York recently donated $137,032 to the 2013 United Way Campaign. This represents employee giving, corporate giving and special-event revenue. Since 1994, BlueCross BlueShield has donated more than $3.4 million to the United Way of Buffalo & Erie County.
