Famed daredevil Nik Wallenda and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra on Thursday will reveal details of their involvement at this year’s Erie County Fair.
Last year, Wallenda said he planned to perform at this year’s fair by walking on a wire from one end of the fair to the other. It’s being billed as a “skywalk.”
“Over the last nine months, Nik and his team of engineers have worked on plans for what he calls a ‘major stunt worthy of the 175th fair celebration,’” organizers said.
Falletta will announce a “new, energized partnership” between the BPO and the fair, they said.
Both Wallenda and BPO Music Director JoAnn Falletta will be on hand at an afternoon news conference at the Hamburg fairgrounds.
Wallenda, who walked across Niagara Falls in 2012 and the Grand Canyon last year, also will perform this summer at Darien Lake.
