Cocaine uncovered in a traffic stop

WHEATFIELD – A pat down following a traffic stop found a man carrying a package of cocaine valued at about $50, in his coat pocket at 2 a.m. Tuesday on Niagara Falls Boulevard at Ruie Road.

Nicholas J. Danwin, 24, of Woodstock Avenue, Tonawanda was stopped by Niagara County sheriff’s deputies for driving 55 mph in a 40 mph zone. A computer check found his license suspended and at that time he was searched and deputies found a baggie in his left coat pocket that he admitted was cocaine.

Danwin was charged with speeding, aggravated unlicensed operation and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was held on $250 bail and a return date was set for June 3 in Town of Wheatfield Court.
